Ides of March
The Ides of March is the first day of the Roman New Year. It also marks the first day of spring in the Roman calendar.
On this day in history, Julius Caesar was warned by soothsayers to “Beware of the Ides of March”. Apparently, he did not heed the warning strongly enough as he was stabbed by Marcus Brutus on the Ides of March in 44 BC.

National Potato Chip Day celebrates the ever popular potato chip. Potato Chips are America’s #1 snack food. But, its not just a snack food. Its the potato of choice for many lunchtime and dinner meals. Regular (or plain) potato chips are by far the most popular. Other popular flavors are barbecue, sour cream & onion, salt & vinegar, and ranch.

Popcorn Day –
Many of us love popcorn. So, it only makes sense that there should be a special day just for popcorn lovers.
Popcorn is good for you, when eaten plain. It is not as healthy, when it’s loaded with salt and butter.
This day is intended to enjoy popcorn and share it with others. Bring some to work. Or microwave some and put in in a basket in your office.
You can have it in a traditional way, with salt and butter. Or, you can add anyone of a number of flavours to it. Some popular flavours are cheddar cheese, parmesan, garlic, and even hot pepper! There is no requirement as what seasoning to use today, as long as your eat plenty popcorn. Now, that’s not hard to do, is it!?
Girl Scout Day –
Girl Scout Day recognizes and celebrates the Girls Scouts of the USA (GSUSA). This date celebrates the creation of the first Girl Scout group on March 12, 1912.
Lady Olave Baden-Powell, founded Girl Guides. The wife of Lord Baden-Powell (who created the Boy Scouts), she was born on February 22 (1889).
On March 12, 1912 Juliette Gordon Low started the first Girl Scout group in Savannah Georgia with 18 girls. The Girls Scouts became a national organization, and was was chartered by the U.S. Congress on March 16, 1950. Today, there are millions of girls involved with Girl Scouts.
Are you a cookie monster? Americans eagerly await the annual Girls Scout cookie drive. It teaches the girls valuable skills, and generates income to support girl scouting activities. And, you get to munch on a variety of delicious cookies. Most people buy several boxes.
Worship of Tools Day –
There are few things that the male population worships more than his tools. To some, a tool is a natural extension of their arm. So, Worship of Tools Day is a logical day of celebration. And, it’s definitely a guy thing. Please note however, there are more than a few ladies who love to work with their hands, and find today to be an important holiday too.
Need a birthday or Christmas gift idea for one of the “boys” in the family? You’re never lacking for tool ideas when you visit the local hardware store.

Don’t worry, don’t fret and above all, don’t panic. However, if ever there was a day to panic, today is that day.

It’s Be Nasty Day!
There are naughty days, and nice days, and all sorts of goodie gumdrop days. So, it stands to reason that there will be a few negative type of days. This is one of them.
We hope you do not celebrate this day, and that it is not popular. If you do, please recognize that there is a big difference between being nasty and being cruel. Sending a few harmless Ecards may be a way to celebrate today.

You certainly must be kidding, right!? National Crown Roast of Pork Day… Why you ask?
Well, frankly, we do not know. And, why not just Roast Pork Day? Why does it have to be a crown roast pork?
What we do know, is that it is National Crown Roast of Pork Day, a special day to cook and eat pork. To participate in this day it must be crown roast pork. Any other just will not do.
